As I was preparing for the Teller County Health Fair, I wondered what I could use as a point of discussion with visitors to my table. I asked myself what issue do I have that might be similar to those of others. Food popped into my head. I must confess, I am one of those people who have food challenges. I recognize that the challenge is not food itself, but my relationship with food. I am sharing my ponderings here because I know I am not alone.

How does food serve us?

Does food give us comfort when we are in emotional pain? Does it stop our body from hurting physically? Does it numb our senses? Do we go on automatic pilot when we eat and not even taste our food? Does it help us procrastinate?

These are just some of the ways food seems to serve us. How nice and cozy our relationship with food can be. In this relationship, food doesn’t judge; it is always there when it is needed. The relationship seems to keep us safe. But we know it is unhealthy and can’t seem to break it off. After many failed attempts, have you ever wondered…

Who’s in charge?

Most of us think we’re in charge and beat ourselves up for not succeeding in our efforts. But, did you know that 95-99% of our life’s experiences are a result of negative and positive memories that are stored in the subconscious mind? No wonder it is so difficult to change our relationship with food. There is an inner saboteur working behind the scenes.

When I think of my inner saboteur, I recognize it is fear based and probably looking for attention. It sure could use a friend. If I am to be in charge, though, I need to be the more powerful. I know that love is the greatest transformative power available. I will give this decree to my inner saboteur so that it knows it is safe and loved as I change my relationship with food.

I AM infusing my inner saboteur with Divine light and love, and I change my relationship with food.

If you would like to experiment, use this decree with food or other relationships. Just focus on your situation (with the feeling of love) and complete the decree with the appropriate word. For example:

I AM infusing my inner saboteur with Divine light and love, and I change my relationship with ________.

If you find your inner saboteur is holding on with extreme fear, there is a possibility the decree won’t work. If this is the case, you are invited to contact me for a free consultation to determine if Internal Clutter Busting training will be helpful.
