The blank canvas is my space to be free. To be bold. To be expressive. To experiment with colors, lines, shapes and textures, following the path the painting takes me. Abstracting from an interesting object or my imagination, I invite you to follow my journey.

I began this journey studying art at Auburn University and I continue to grow through the process of painting and through workshops and instruction with talented mentors including Joe Perrin, Iris Lee, Alan Tiegreen and, most recently, Leslie Newman.

Painting with oils and acrylics for many years, I most recently began concentrating on using acrylic and water-based media on canvas and paper.  I love to experiment with tools to apply the paint, then with scraping through to reveal other layers of paint beneath.

Numerous awards include:  Anderson County Art Show, MacArthur Goodwin, judge; Paint the Waterfront, Montgomery, AL, Dr. Pat Yuhoasz, judge; Jubilee Southern Festival of the Arts, Allen Tiegreen, Iris Lee, Lev Mills, judges.

I am a member of the High Museum of Art, Atlanta and the Jules Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, Auburn University.
